FarbWerk Zürich
Everything about costs, process, guarantee and eco-friendly paints.
It depends on the surface area and scope of work. As a guide: a 70 m² apartment typically takes around 2 weeks. We give you a precise time estimate during the free on-site visit.
We work with proven quality products: Dold, Sikkens and Kabe as standard. For eco projects, we use Thymos (interior) and Keim (exterior) — low-emission paints for healthy indoor air. You choose.
Yes, completely. Before starting work, we carefully cover all furniture, floors and sensitive surfaces. We leave the site as we found it — or better.

Sustainability matters to us. We offer eco-friendly paints from Thymos (interior) and Keim (exterior) — both low-emission and certified for a healthy indoor climate. Waste is disposed of according to Swiss regulations. Long-lasting materials mean fewer renovation cycles — good for the environment and your budget.
Conventional paints can release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that pollute indoor air. Eco-certified paints like Thymos (interior) and Keim (exterior) are low-emission and promote a healthy indoor climate — especially important for allergy sufferers, children and rooms with limited ventilation. We offer them as a standard option.
Mineral exterior paints like Keim are significantly more durable than organic dispersion paints. They chemically bond with the substrate (silicification) and are UV-, algae- and fungal-resistant. With professional application, lifespans of 15–25 years are common — fewer renovation cycles and lower long-term costs.
The ideal period is April to October, when temperatures stay consistently above +5 °C and humidity is moderate. Spring and summer provide the most even drying conditions. Frost, rain and intense direct sunlight can affect quality. We advise you on scheduling.
Mould is usually caused by a structural issue: thermal bridges, poor ventilation or penetrating moisture. We remove affected areas professionally, treat the substrate with appropriate products and use breathable paints. Simply painting over mould is not a long-term solution — we always recommend identifying the root cause. For large infestations, we bring in a building specialist.
Yes — but only with the right approach. Nicotine stains penetrate standard topcoat and quickly reappear. The solution is a specialist blocking primer that seals the substrate before topcoats are applied. We have used this method successfully, including a renovation project in Näfels, canton Glarus.
Decorative techniques go beyond simple painting: textured plaster creates structured surfaces, marble effects imitate natural stone, metallic finishes give walls a modern sheen. These techniques require skilled craftsmanship and quality materials. Talk to us — we'll advise which options suit your space.
In most cases yes. We work room by room or zone by zone, so you can continue using the apartment. We inform you in advance which areas will be off-limits and on which days, keeping noise and odour to a minimum. For very large projects we recommend alternative accommodation for at least the first few days.
For commercial and larger projects this is possible — we can schedule early mornings, evenings or weekends if agreed in advance. Contact us directly.
